Am I A Young Carer ?
Have you ever wondered if you help out at home more than most children your age?
You might be a Young Carer if you regularly help look after someone in your family who is ill, has a disability, struggles with their mental health, or needs extra support. You may help with chores, look after younger brothers or sisters, remind someone to take medication, or simply spend time helping a family member when they are finding things difficult.
Being a Young Carer is something to be proud of. It shows kindness, responsibility and compassion. However, it can also feel challenging at times. You might worry about family members, feel tired, struggle to find time for yourself, or find it difficult to balance everything alongside school.
At Stratton School, we want Young Carers to know that they are not alone. We are here to listen, understand and help. The first step is helping us understand your situation so that we can make sure the right support is available.
