Norwich Academy
Section 1: Introduction
The Norwich City FC RDP Football and Education Programmes aim to provide talented footballers the opportunity to continue their football development alongside their education. Based at Stratton School in Biggleswade our scholars will combine their sixth- form education alongside daily training sessions and a competitive games programme. With dedicated college staff and our highly skilled coaches, scholars will also have the opportunity to develop life skills as part of our enrichment programme, gain coaching qualifications and travel with us on tours at home and abroad.
If your child is interested in becoming a part of the post 16 programme here at Stratton School or you would like to find out more about the programme, please get in touch at Ben.Hall@Canaries.co.uk
Section 2: 23/24 Season Recap
This season has been The Stratton Programme’s most successful season since the programme started 3 years ago. The team finished first in the league, winning the title unbeaten! This transformation has been aided by the new state-of-the-art 3G all-weather artificial sports pitch here at Stratton School. The facilitates & equipment available here also included a VEO camera allowing for analysis of all Games. This is available and used for all training sessions & home fixtures. This season has included trips to Norwich City's First Team & Academy Lotus Training Centre, Competing across 3 competitions Home & Away and a Football Tour of Barcelona in July where the Squad will play two Spanish sides.
As well as the success as a team, the individual students taking part in the Norwich Programme have seen a huge development, As a person and as a player. Two examples of this have been players Lewis & Rafael , both of whom were Captains of the Stratton Team. Lewis White who ended the season as Mens' Young Player of the Year at Biggleswade United, And Rafael Miles who finished Top Goal scorer for Biggleswade FC’s Reserves in the Bedfordshire County Football League Premier Division.
Section 3: Former Player Statement
"I think the Norwich Football & Education Programme was a great way to combine football with the subjects I had chosen. I feel like it has benefited me and improved me as a player by improving some of my weaknesses. The coaches are outstanding, and I have learnt a lot from them. I would really recommend the program if you want to better yourself as a player." (Lewis : Mens' Young Player of the Year at Biggleswade United)
